Teachers' Storyline in the Journey of Developing Creative Teaching Based on Artificial Intelligence

Abstract

Teachers sometimes face students who, on the one hand, are not motivated to learn and, on the other hand, Teachers sometimes face students who, on the one hand, are not motivated to learn and, on the other hand,do not have the necessary ability to understand and learn the course material, while teachers' use of creative methods in teaching can solve both problems. This study sought to describe the storyline of teachers in the journey of developing creative teaching with artificial intelligence. This study was conducted using a qualitative-narrative method, the research field included all creative teachers in Isfahan city and a purposeful sampling method of judgment type and up to theoretical saturation was carried out, with 26 people. The entry criteria for the participants were teachers who used artificial intelligence tools for teaching. Data were collected through unstructured interviews and thematic analysis was used to analyze the data. 10 overarching themes (educational challenges, individual challenges, technological challenges, individual opportunities, educational opportunities, technological opportunities, fear of making mistakes; developing teaching capabilities, professional transformation, integrating teaching with technology) emerged in the journey of developing creative teaching with AI. The result show that the story of teachers in the journey of developing creative teaching with AI is not only a technological transformation, but also a cultural and professional transformation in the education system. In this journey, teachers initially face various challenges and obstacles such as fear of making mistakes, hesitation, and lack of digital literacy, but by going through these stages, they develop their abilities in the effective use of smart technologies.
